DAY 4 – Syange to Tal

Billy and Raj at the entrance to Tal
Billy awoke feeling better today and we headed off to Tal. Good grief! the route map had a section labeled “long, hot hill.” Really…it’s labeled like that on the map! What it doesn’t tell you is that there’s a shorter, hot hill a few miles before it. I hate hills!!!
I know, I know…it’s the Himalayas what did I expect.
We camped on the lawn of another tea house. This one had a solar shower – well, a cement cubicle with a spicket of cold water and a bucket of hot water on the side since it was a cloudy day 🙁

Our Campsite at Tal
There were 2 Israeli girls, early 20’s, who were desperately searching for a hot shower. Geez, they were rude to the owner. They were upset because of the lack of hot water and trotted off to find another tea house. I tried to explain the concept of a “solar” shower to them, but I think they failed to comprehend.

Tal
This was another oppressive day of extreme heat. Temps were around 85 to 90 degrees again. I can’t believe how hot it is! I’m going to die! A bit of rain this morning helped cool things off, but not much.
